Intro
Hey all!
I have a thing for doing some roleplay in certain games, and F1 Manager is a great platform for that. The game surely has it's flaws, but is on the right path and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I decided to make a series to document the story of my created team, and this first post will cover the initial founding of the team, staff and driver signings and more.
When writing this post, I'm currently in the 2026 season, but I'm going to split this up into a few chapters, to prevent each post from being too long, and make it a bit easier for myself as well.
So, lets start where it all began: Iceland!
Team Founded, Season Prep (2024)
A group of investors from Iceland had for years had this pipedream of entering the world's premier motorsport discipline: Formula 1. Most people dismissed this idea as absurd. How could someone from this small country even imagine to embark on this highly ambitious journey? But the lead investor, a big shot CEO in the pharmaceutical industry, was relentless in his pursuit. It took a while, but eventually he managed to assemble a team of likeminded investors, hired a local team principal, and secured enough funding to get the ball rolling. Atlantic Racing was formed!

Despite the team's pride in it's origin, it was decided to keep the team situated in the UK, purely for logistics reasons. As you can probably imagine, the team is starting off in a rough state. Facilities are low grade, funding average at best, and the team's first car is ranked at the bottom of the 11 teams for the season start. But this is as expected, and only marks the beginning of Atlantic Racing's journey.
Staff signings were all low level to keep things budget friendly, and aiming for the staff to possibly grow with the team. When it came to the driver's, however, it was decided to opt for some experience. Signing unproven rookies would be cheaper, but risky in terms of higher chances of crashes and such incidents. After careful considerations, the team reached an agreement to sign Mick Schumacher and Antonio Giovinazzi, both to a 1 year contract to start, and to keep options open for 2025. A couple of affiliate drivers were also on board, with a notable name being Ti Seok, a very promising Korean driver who the team had big plans for possibly becoming a main driver.
During the time leading up to the first race weekend in Bahrain, the team didn't waste any time, and had already started a couple of new design projects to improve on the car and begin construction to improve on some of the team's facilities.
But now, the wait is over. For the first time in Formula 1 history, a Iceland owned team is present on the grid, and for the first time since 2016 we have 11 teams competing for motorsport's highest honor!
How will Atlantic Racing tackle this immense challenge that stands before them? We'll find out more soon, so stay tuned!
